IMPORTANT UPDATES

Thanks to our very loyal sponsor Photosmart, we have scheduled two dates where the team will be here at PNC to take your team photos.  This year the team are trying something new, to be able to prepare for the types of photos clubs want.  

• Saturday 15th June will be traditional style team photos
• Saturday 20th July will be the poster style team photos (green screen)

General Reminders:

• ANYONE can request a duty umpire to a game.   If an umpire appears to be struggling, if a coach isn’t happy with how the game is being officiated, if the sideline is displaying unacceptable behavior please come and get a duty Umpire/PNC committee member.  We cannot do anything about it, if we are told after the game. 
• BENCHSIDE, for teams playing outdoors: is facing the Pulman arena.   All teams MUST be on the bench side of the court for the duration of the match.
• NO SPECTATORS on the baseline (goal line).  This is not only for your safety, but the safety of the umpires.

Pulman Arena Rules Reminder:

• All spectators are to be seated upstairs.
• No Food, including slushies etc. is permitted on the playing courts.  Water bottles are allowed on the carpeted area only.
• Lift access is in the arena foyer, unless instructed otherwise by arena staff.

Pulman Arena locked from 11am to 11.20am (NEW TRIAL): 

• After the 10am Year 3&4 round indoors, the arena staff will be instructed to lock down the court space while they adjust all courts for the 12pm round.  No one will be allowed entry to the courts during this time.
• At 11:20AM the players tunnel (only) will be unlocked for teams entering for the 12pm round.
• A guard will be situated at the players tunnel to ensure that ONLY players, coaches and managers are entering the court area.

Umpire Development

SENIOR UMPIRE DEVELOPMENT DROP IN SESSION 

The Umpire committee's Senior Leads are delivering a “Senior Umpire Development” session this Saturday 25th May.  We would like to invite Prems, Snr A, Senior A Res and anyone else that is interested.  

• Umpire Workshop: Senior Umpire Development
• When: Saturday 25th May
• Time: 9:00am
• Where: PNC Upstairs Conference Room
• Focus: Game management and PVT and insight how coaches coach their defensive players.

Coach Development

• Clubs that have 5+ coaches wanting to do a CCA1 or 2 workshops can contact Serena directly to have one set up.  We delivered our modules in the pre-season, and don’t have any scheduled until Sept.  BUT we are more than happy to work with clubs if you can pull together the numbers.  please email ndc2@papakuranetball.org.nz 
• Netball Manurewa are currently promoting CCA1 workshops – coaches are welcome to attend workshops at other netball centers if that better suits them.  We all teach the same modules, and getting coaching from other coach developers is a good thing

REP UPDATES

Congratulations to all the players that have been selected to represent PNC for the 2024 season.

Our teams are now into week 2 of our Regional Tournaments. 

This weekend our Under 14 Development, under 14A, under 16 and Under 18s will be competing at the Pukekohe Counties Energy Rep Tournament.

FACILITY HIRE

Did you know you can hire Papakura Netball Centre for special occasions? Well, you absolutely can! It is a fabulous venue with many other rooms for hire too (see below) We have regular bookings so please make sure to book well in advance. We hope you enjoy the use of our building. 

Other rooms available for hire are:

• Main hall, plus fully equipped kitchen & bar area
• Conference room, with kitchen
• Officials lounge
