COUNTIES MANUKAU SECONDARY SCHOOL NETBALL COMPETITION

The 2025 CMSS competition has now ended.  This season CMSS coimpetition showcased not only some outstanding netball but also the incredible support from our school communities.  The cheering, encouragement, and sense of school pride heard across the courts was a true reflection of the spirit that makes this competition so special.

Thank you for helping create such a memorable finish to the season!

• In 2025, the CMSS competition experienced a 16% increase in participation.
• This year also marked the introduction of school-provided umpires for our Year 7 & 8 grades, enabling us to coach, develop and support these young officials as they begin their journey through the umpiring pathway.

We would like to wish all schools participating in the upcoming UNISS tournament the very best of luck.   We also remind all schools that if you require any support in the lead up to UNISS or AIMS with NetballSmart resources or Coach Development please don’t hesitate to reach out and we will see what we can do to provide support or find support for your school.

CMSS Competition Information - for 2026 TBC

The Counties Manukau Secondary School Netball Competition (CMSS) will be administered and delivered by Papakura Netball Centre (PNC) in 2026.

2026 COMPETITION INFORMATION

The 11-week CMSS Competition will be played on Wednesday evenings over 3 rounds being:

• 4.10pm
• 5.10pm
• 6.10pm

The competition commences on 6^th May through to 29^th July (no play 8^th & 15^th July – School Holidays).

TEAM ENTRY:

Schools must first complete the Team Entry Form, to advise Papakura Netball Centre of their team names, grades requested and coach details, by no later than 2^nd April 2026.

$550 incl. GST per Y9-Premier team payment is due with completed Team Registration Form by no later than Friday 24^th April 2026. 

$400 incl. GST per Year 7 or 8 team payment is due with completed Team Registration Form by no later than Friday 24^th April 2026.

Please Note:

• Papakura Netball Centre will rotate as many grades as possible through the indoor Arena with the following grades ONLY playing indoors: Premier 1 & 2.  

COMPETITION GRADES (dependent on team entries):

• Year 7&8
• Year 7&8 Mixed - NEW
• Year 9
• Year 10
• Senior B
• Senior A
• Mixed Open
• Premier

GRADING:

Prior to the commencement of the Championship Round, a Grading Round will be coordinated for each competition grade. Team grade placement following grading, is at the discretion of the PNC Office. 

TEAM UMPIRES:

All teams must provide a suitably qualified umpire and notification of Team Umpire must be submitted via the Umpire Registration Form by no later than Thursday 2^nd April. 

Teams who cannot secure a suitably qualified umpire, may apply to PNC to request an umpire be provided. 

The cost for a PNC provided umpire is $200 incl. GST per umpire, payment is due with the completed CMSS Umpire Application Form by no later than Thursday, 2^nd April.

Schools who wish to participate in Umpire Development workshops in your schools are encouraged to contact us directly.  We are happy to come into schools and work with your students to build your umpire base.
