Summer Ferns is back for 2026, providing children with the perfect opportunity to learn, play and develop their netball skills in a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment.

Whether your child is brand new to netball, looking to build confidence, or preparing for the grade they will play next season, Summer Ferns offers a program designed to help every player continue their netball journey.

For our winter players, Summer Ferns is a fantastic way to stay active over the off season, continue building skills, and transition confidently into the grade they will play in during the 2027 winter competition. Our dedicated transition grades provide players with the opportunity to experience the next level of netball before the new season begins.

Players can register as an individual or as part of a team, making it easy for everyone to get involved.

Understanding 6 v 6 Netball - Year 5&6

This module is for anyone umpiring or coaching 6 v 6 Netball. It is also beneficial for parents who have children participating in this age group. 

This module covers two key objectives:  

1. The philosophy of Woolworths futureFERNS Netball
2. The rules of the Year 5 & 6, 6 v 6 Netball game​​​​​​​

Learning to Umpire 2026 - Year 7&8

The NNZ Learning to Umpire Module for New Umpires and Player Umpires replaces the Netball New Zealand Centre Theory test

The Module helps New and Player Umpires understand some of the rules of netball as well as some practical techniques to enhance their umpiring.
